NOTE: LMSA is now the name of the National Organization representing Latino medical students throughout the United States. Our LMSA National (formerly NNLAMS) webpage can be found at nnlams.org until our websites are updated. This website (lmsa.net) will continue to represent the LMSA chapters in the West until further notice.
26th Annual LMSA-West Regional Conference: Welcoming Change – Bridging Gaps for Latinos through Improvements in Health Policy This conference enables LMSA members to convene & assemble experts from around the country to conduct seminars on Latino issues & skills development for high school, undergraduate, & medical students, & a variety of healthcare professionals. In order to eliminate health disparities that plague Latinos, we must set the foundation for change by cultivating the future leaders of our community. To achieve this goal, we created this conference to foster discourse, analysis, & systematic action on issues critical to recruiting & retaining Latinos in the health professions & to increase awareness of healthcare discrepancies in the Latino community. We aim to promote greater access to health, advance cultural competency in medicine, establish & create long standing mentoring relationships, as well as advocate for novel approaches to community health & the elimination of health disparities.
