Outside Scholarships of Interest to LMSA:
Diversity in Pediatrics Extern Scholarship
The University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine and The Children’s Hospital (TCH) believes that diversity is a value that is central to its educational, research, service and health care missions. The Diversity in Pediatrics Committee’s mission is to increase diversity at the School of
Medicine and TCH to both better reflect the community we serve as well as to increase cultural competency in the health care workforce, improve access to health care for poor, minority and under-served populations and, ultimately, eliminate racial, ethnic and socioeconomic disparities in
health and health services. As part of this mission, the Diversity in Pediatrics Extern Scholarship was designed to offset the costs of an externship rotation for fourth year medical students interested in caring for medically underserved pediatric populations in Colorado, to help defer the
added expense of an away rotation.
