Resident Council Member
A. Chairperson/Chairperson-Elect
The Chairperson must be available for all Board conference calls and NHMA’s national meeting. The Chairperson will preside at all meetings of the Executive Committee, be responsible for preparation of the committee agenda, and coordinate with staff to ensure timely dissemination of the agenda and materials necessary for the Committee’s determination. He/she shall work to ensure that Committee fulfills its duties and responsibilities. At the request of the Chairperson, or in the event of the Chairperson’s absence or disability, the Chairperson-Elect shall perform any and all of the duties of the Chairperson. Additionally, the Chairperson-Elect shall have other duties as the Executive Committee may determine from time to time.
B. Secretary
The Secretary shall keep the minutes of all meeting of the Executive Board. Further, the Secretary shall attend to the giving and serving of all notices of the COR. The Secretary shall have custody of the COR seal and properly keep, or cause to be kept, the record books of the COR. In general, the Secretary shall have all duties incident to that office, as well as other such duties as the Executive Board may determine from time to time.
C. Treasurer
The Treasurer shall be responsible for collection and submission of all receipts to go to NHMA Controller, based on agreed upon budget from the NHMA Board of Directors at the Fall meeting each year as part of NHMA annual budget. Additionally, the Treasurer shall have other duties as the Executive Committee may determine from time to time.
D. Communications Executive Committee Member
The Communications Committee Member shall be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating communication channels by which NHMA and the COR Executive Committee can 1) hold meetings with COR members and 2) effectively transmit information to and from COR members. Additionally, the Communications Committee member shall have other duties as the Executive Committee may determine from time to time.
E. Health Policy and Legislation Committee Member
The Health Policy and Legislation Committee Member shall be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating strategies to empower COR members to take action in regard to upcoming health policy and legislative activities. Additionally, the Health Policy and Legislative Committee member shall have other duties as the Executive Committee may determine from time to time.
F. Membership Executive Committee Member
The Membership Executive Committee Member shall be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating strategies to increase recruitment and retention of residents and fellows to NHMA and to the COR. Additionally, the Membership Committee member shall have other duties as the Executive Committee may determine from time to time.
G. Academic Affairs Committee Member
The Academic Affairs Committee Member shall be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating strategies to address the academic issues of residents and fellows including patient care, teaching, and research responsibilities. Additionally, the Academic Affairs Committee member shall have other duties as the Executive Committee may determine from time to time.
H. Professional Development Committee Member
The Professional Development Committee Member shall be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating strategies to address the professional development needs of residents and fellows. Additionally, the Professional Development Committee member shall have other duties as the Executive Committee may determine from time to time.
J. Conference Committee Member
The Conference Committee member shall be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of the regional and national conferences. L. Webmaster
The Webmaster will be responsible for the organization and daily management of the website – www.nhmacor.com He/She will work with the other executive committee members to ensure distribution of information for residents and on NHMA COR activities.
M. LMSA Liaison
The LMSA Liaison shall be responsible coordinating the transfer of information and activities between LMSA and COR. Additionally, the LMSA liaison shall have other duties as the Executive Committee may determine from time to time.
N. COR Faculty Advisory Committee
Members of the COR Faculty Advisory Committee will be responsible for 1) advising and mentoring the COR Executive Committee, especially on how to fulfill CORs mission and objectives and 2) assist in securing resources for the COR to achieve its mission and activities. Additionally, the COR Faculty Advisory Committee shall have other duties as the Executive Committee may determine from time to time.
I. Directly mentor 1-2 COR executive committee members and assist them in fulfilling their committee’s objectives/activities.
II. Participate in executive committee conference calls.
III. Advise the COR Executive Committee in addressing and revising the CORs missions and objectives.
