RESEARCH POSTER PRESENTATION: Call for Abstracts
LMSA Midwest Conference Poster Session
The poster session is a wonderful opportunity for medical students to showcase their research, and also an opportunity to compete for our Poster Session Awards.
Eligibility
1) Research must have been done while in medical, dental, or graduate school (for MD/PhD and joint degree Master’s students) with the exception of 1st year medical and dental students (who can use undergraduate research for their posters).
2) Must register for and attend the 2012 LMSA Regional Conference at the Instituto Progreso Latino in Chicago, IL on March 24th to the 25th. This includes being present to participate in the poster session, including setting up your poster during specified times in advance of the session opening to attendees (standard size poster panels will be provided, please bring your own tacks/push pins).
3) Have completed your project or have sufficient data collected to write a complete abstract, including the results and conclusion sections.
Awards
A judging panel composed of faculty members, physicians and LMSA E-board members will award the 3 best poster presentations. The judging criteria is attached. There will be First, Second and Third place awards, amounts TBA.
Submission Guidelines
Abstracts should be no longer than 375 words and follow a standard format (background, methods, results, and conclusion). No charts, graphs, or figures will be allowed for abstract submission. Only completed abstracts will be considered. Ethical considerations for subjects should be mentioned, if applicable. Be sure to include your full name, medical school, year, and email/contact info in your submission. We are recommending that the poster is 36 x 48 but if you have printed a poster of a different size for a different purpose please let me know, you might be able to re-use it.
Abstracts are due by March 1st, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time.
