Purpose: The Latino Medical Student Association has an obligation to the LGBTQ population.  This LMSA LGBTQ-A (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, and Ally) sub-committee is created with the hope of sparking a conversation about issues affecting this sub-group of the Latino population we as an organization serve. This sub-committee will serve as a source of knowledge for all future latino physicians regarding LGBTQ-A issues, raising awareness of LGBTQ-A health issues specifically affecting the latino population, creating a social network of LGTBQ-A latino pre-medical student, medical students, residents, and physicians.  Overall, we hope to give LMSA a strong voice in support for this marginalized and underserved population of Latinos.
