Hola LMSA familia,

The 2016 Cynthia Felix Scholarship is now closed. Please forward this scholarship opportunity to college and post-bacc students who are interested in pursuing a career in medicine and dedicated to serving the Latino and underserved communities. This scholarship is intended to help ease their financial burden. The deadline to apply is DECEMBER 31st, 2016 January 11th, 2017

This scholarship was developed in 2011 in honor of Cinthya Felix, a pre-medical student from East LA. Cinthya was 26 years old when she passed away in a car accident. At that time, she was working multiple jobs in order to pay for her expenses and send money to her family. Her dream was to become a physician and return to serve her community. Cinthya graduated from UCLA, where she was instrumental in founding IDEAS (Improving Dreams, Equality, Access, and Success), an on-campus group dedicated to supporting and advocating for AB 540 students. She was also the first undocumented student to attend Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health.
Please have applicants email me at VP_Scholarship@lmsa.net with any questions!
Sigamos adelante,
Susana Sandoval
