LMSA Midwest Announcements!

Social EM summer externship for MS1/MS2’s

Highland Hospital offering (our 2nd year) this externship for underrepresented minority medical students between their MS1/MS2 years for a 6-8 week professional development program.  Externs will be given a stipend of $3500 for the summer to defray costs and will engage in three components to the program.  They will engage in social emergency medicine research, undergo weekly clinical skills coaching in the ED, and participate in community engagement programs, such as mentorship for high school and undergraduate students. I can chat more if you want to know more about the program, and I have testimonials from our 3 externs last year that was nothing short of inspiring, if you’d like for me to share.

Kaiser East Bay 2020-2021 Diversity Disparities Scholarship

Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center is offering up to a $2,000 Diversity Disparities Scholarship to current fourth -year medical students.  Applications must be submitted by May 29th, 2020 in VSAS/VSLO.
