LMSA Midwest Announcements!

Applications now being accepted for the 2020 Minority Summer Fellowship Award

The goal of the ASTRO Minority Summer Fellowship Award is to introduce medical students from backgrounds that are underrepresented in medicine to the discipline of radiation oncology early in their medical education. Medical students in all years are encouraged to apply, although preference will be given to first- and second-year students.

Four award winners will be chosen, and they will be introduced to the discipline of radiation oncology and exposed to clinical, basic and translational research. Each winner will receive a $5,000 package that includes:

  • A $3,000 stipend for an eight-week training program.
  • An additional $1,000 upon completion of a final report.
  • $1,000 toward attendance at the 2021 ASTRO Annual Meeting.

Upcoming deadline for the 2020 Kaiser Permanente Northern California Medical Student Scholarship Program

The 2020 Kaiser Permanente Northern California Medical Student Scholarship Program is now accepting applications!

Current third-year medical students with a demonstrated commitment to underserved communities are encouraged to apply for a chance to earn a $5,000 scholarship.

Applications must be submitted by November 30, 2019.
